Letter from the Las Lomas Board

At the annual homeowner’s meeting, three new members were added to the Board. They are Brian Scott, Danielle Dancy, and LaShaun Wright. This addition signals the release of control by the developers to the homeowners association. The developers retained architectural control until all the phases are completed. When the car wash issue developed, the board learned that we were not registered with the City of San Antonio as a homeowner’s association. Therefore, we were not receiving any notices concerning zoning and other issues that could possibly affect the neighborhood. We are now registered. Additionally, we are becoming active in the Stone Oak Advisory group as well as the District 9 Neighborhood Alliance. Just as children learn as they grow, your Board is learning as we become more involved with other neighborhood associations around us. We are learning who, when, and how to contact the appropriate people for various problems. This will only make our neighborhood a better place. Our SAFFE officer, Andrew Camplen, continues to work closely with the board to address safety issues and concerns. We are blessed to have such a dedicated individual. Our community continues to grow. With growth can come pains. To ward off these pains we urge everyone to become involved with one of the committees. Time requirements are minimal and most communication occurs via email. Please join us today. Thanks, and we hope to see you at Neighborhood Beautification Day to improve our neighborhood as well as the kids party on Halloween! Las Lomas Board

Grounds Beautification Committee

In October, we will award a quarterly best yard winner through winter. OCTOBER 23RD is GROUNDS BEAUTIFICATION DAY. Please mark you calendar and plan to join your neighbors in sprucing up our common areas around the pool and at the front entrance. We will be trimming trees, adding mulch and planting new plants. We will begin around 8 AM and finish just after noon. Please contact me at 497-1303 or email radbandmom@yahoo.com for further info.

Covenant Enforcement Committee Report

The neighborhood has been looking pretty good lately. Yards are not growing very fast due to the dry weather so we need to make sure we are not letting weeds go unattended. Remember to keep your drives and sidewalks edged. Grass should not grow over sidewalks and driveways more than 3 inches. Also a reminder to remove your trashcans and recycle bins as soon as possible after trash is picked up. Put them in the garage or in back of the house. They are not to be in view such as in front of the garage. Storage of any materials is not allowed in front of the garage or on the side of the house. I appreciate everyone’s efforts in keeping our subdivision looking good and keeping our property values up. If you have concerns or want to report a covenant violation, email me at robert_phillips_1954@yahoo.com.
